to send the draft legislation for any comments they

may wish to make before we write to Hong Kong.

Paragraphs 15, 16 and 17 refer to China

companies and suggest that such companies which

transferred their registration to the U.K. during the

war should be enabled to transfer their registration

back to Hong Kong under the authority of 2 additional

articles to the B.M.A. Proclamation No.27 (see

enclosure No.2) so as to keep the China companies

legislatio

"Te gistration at this stage separate from the non-China legislation

companies egistration This seems to be a somewhat

clumsy procedure but I can imagine that it makes this

complex subject a little simpler if the types of

company are dealt with by separate legislation f

this as possible.

Paragraphs 18 and 19 appear to be for the

Board of Trade subject to any comment you may wish to

make as to the "country of origin" being Hong Kong in

the case of a China company.

I would propose drafting to the Board of Trade

generally on the above lines, subject to your comments.
